It’s been a rough week. Work has been
stressful, the kids are after you. It’s time to unwind with a steambath. So what’s
the best way to take a steam shower?
The first thing to do is hang a big “Do
Not Disturb” sign outside the bathroom door. Tell your hubby that he has to handle the kids
while you refresh your body and mind. You turn on some soft music to add to the
mood.
Eating or drinking water and natural tea
will hydrate you properly before you get your dose of steam. Bring in a bottle
of water if you want to hydrate during your steam shower. If you decide to eat,
you should wait at least one hour after eating a big meal before your steam
shower so that you can digest properly.
Towels are optional. If you’re planning
to sit in your steam shower before you get wet, wearing a cotton towel and letting
your exposed skin sweat freely will keep your body warm. You can always take it
off when it gets too hot. Turn on your steam shower. The recommended temperature
for all steam showers is 110° to 115° F (43° to 46° C). Now the hard part,sitting,
relaxing and enjoying your steam shower. Remember don’t overdo it, no more than
15-20 minutes.
