Is it a Hot Tub or a Spa, The Lacrosse Spa is both

It’s not easy making that decision, hot tub or spa. Well, we’ve made that decision a lot easier, now you can have both.

The Lacrosse Spa at 225 IN (5.71M) X 87IN (2.2M) X 56 IN (1.42M) is large enough to easily seat 8-12 people. Powered by dual 2 HP pumps, dual 2 speed swim pumps, 2 x 5.5 kw heater, a 150 sq.ft. Filter system, an Ozonator, your also covered for the winter months with a 5" locking winter cover and our winter insulation package.

You’ll enjoy a warm massage by our 74 Stainless jets with LEDs while relaxing on a headrest. And when the sun goes down LED fiber optic colour lights located in the spa and hot tub and 4 corner sconce LED entry lights will make sure that you find your way around in the dark.

That’s not all with impressive options like an iPod dock with Bluetooth, two speakers & subwoofers and spa aerobic equipment optional, you’ll have to lock the door to keep the neighbors out.

So if you’re still on the fence about owning a hot tub or spa, come on down. You can have both at a great price.

Building the Ideal Hot Tub Deck

So you just bought yourself a hot tub and you want to install it on your deck.  What materials should you use? How much should you use?  Where should it be positioned? The ideal location for your hot tub is to have it built on a flat surface such as a 3-1/2”-4”concrete slab but you might need a bigger piece of concrete for a larger hot tub. The structure needs to support the tub’s dry weight plus the water capacity and the number of occupants multiplied by their weight.

So if you take the 50 sq. ft. Reflex Hot Tub that has a dry weight of 908 lbs and can hold 390 gallons of water (1 gallon = 8.3 lbs), seats 5-7 people weighing on average 190 lbs., you’ll need a structure that can support (908 lbs x 3237 lbs + (7 people x 190 lbs) = 5475 lbs or 2483.4 kg. Now if you would like to know how many pounds per square foot does the deck have to be able to support its 5475 lbs. /50 sq. ft. = 109.5 lbs. per square foot. The deck must be designed to hold 109.5 lbs. per square foot or 49.668 kg.

If the deck is elevated, you will most likely have to submit a proper design to your municipal authority. Before picking out a spot for your hot tub take into consideration the wind and sun as well privacy from neighbors. Traffic flow is also important.  Build a sturdy deck for your hot tub with a good location and enjoy your new hot tub!

The Triathlon Hot Tub isn’t Bigger than a Swimming Pool But …..

In some cases function wins over size. Take our Triathlon Hot Tub; at 449cm (177”) X 220.98cm (87”) X 139cm (55”), it is smaller than most models of swimming pools. While you won’t be able to do laps in it like you could in a swimming pool and it is one of our larger hot tubs and it comes with some big features.

Let’s start with the 33 stainless jets that deliver a balanced soothing massage. Hydrotherapy is an effective way to relax, soothe aching muscles and joint pain, relieve congestion, recover from injuries and improve circulation. And the Triathlon is big enough for you and four guests to enjoy hydrotherapy together.

Then there’s the optional spa aerobic equipment that will help you get a workout when you want to take a break from relaxing. Everybody needs some music for their workouts or downtime, and the Triathlon comes with an optional iPod dock w/Bluetooth technology. Lighting won’t be an issue as you’ll be able to find your way around in the dark with the four corner sconce LED entry lights and additional lights attached to each of the stainless jets.

And the Triathlon has all the equipment to keep your hot tub running for years with 2 x 5 HP pumps, a 5.5 kW heater and a 100 sq. ft. filter system. It even comes with a 5" locking winter cover
If you’re in the market for relaxation and hydrotherapy then you might be want to take a look at the Triathlon Hot Tub.

Throwing a Hot Tub Party

If summer hasn’t arrived where you are, it definitely with the weatherman is calling for highs in the late 20’s over the weekend. And what can you do to celebrate the sun? Have some fun in your hot tub and throw a party!

So before you start texting and messaging your friends, here are some tips to make your hot tub party the best party in the neighborhood.

- Invite the right number of people; you don’t want too many people in the hot tub or too many people outside.
- Have extra swimsuits and towels on hand for people who forgot theirs
- Plan some activities like hot tub hockey (you just need to use something that floats) and you’ll keep all of your friends happy
- Music, music, music. Whether you’re into East Coast rap or classic rock, the music always makes the party.
- Drink up after you dip into the hot tub because mixing alcohol and the warm water can get you tipsy faster and may make next morning’s hangover worse.

And don’t forget to tell us about your best hot tub parties, we’d love to know about them!
