Jazz Never Sounded or Felt Better

The Jazz Series Massage Bathtub that is!   You’ll never want to leave the comfort of your massage bathtub and the sweet sounds of bubbles from hydro massage jets and warming touch of the constant heat function. Whether you decide on the A510, A511 or A512, you can’t go wrong with the Jazz Series in your bathroom.

Let’s start with what all three have in common. All three models are computer controlled with remote, hydro massage jets, constant heat function, hand-held shower fixtures, head cushions, FM radio, multi-colored LED tub lighting and our water pump protection features, pipe rinse systems and pipe drain systems. They all come in standard white but may be in additional colors if you’re going for a unique look.

The differences between the three models are the dimensions. The larger A510
(73 X 59 X 28.5 IN/185.42cm x 149.86cm and 72.39cm), the more evenly proportioned A511 (73 X 35.5 X 27.5 IN/185.42cm x 90.17cm and 72.39cm) and the slimmer A512 (69 X 69 X 28.5 IN/175.26cm x 175.26cm and 72.39cm),)

Depending on the model that best fits your bathroom, you won’t be disappointed with your massage bathtub from Soak Saskatoon.

World Water Day and the Type of Water in Your Steam Shower

As we celebrate World Water Day today we focus our attention on the importance of freshwater and the sustainable management of freshwater resources. Since 1993, after the United Nations formally March 22 as World Water Day, each year focuses on a different issue. This year the theme is centered on water and those jobs created either directly or indirectly by water sources on the globe.

We can identify with this year’s theme as Soak Saskatoon sells products that are customers use to enjoy water in their hot tubs, steam showers, steam baths etc… Once concern that some of our customers have is using hard water with our products. Hard water occurs when it contains high mineral content due to water filters through porous surfaces leaving deposits of limestone and chalk which are largely made up of calcium and magnesium carbonates.

While hard water isn’t harmful to you, it may damage plumbing systems, decorative hardware, faucet and glass. You may even want to consider a water treatment system if the water quality is a concern. Many of our steam showers can be used with a water softener. You can find water softeners at the Home Depot or Sears and their price range varies. On World Water Day, the type of water that you use is important for your steam shower.

New for 2016, the Contemporary Series 89101

One of our new products for 2016 is the Contemporary Series 89101 steam shower. The Contemporary Series has made some impressive additions over the last year including the slightly larger 89102 and 89105.

Population trends, financial reasons and environmentally friendly home design have led many potential homeowners to build smaller homes.  And that usually means smaller bathrooms.  For the smaller home the 89101 steam shower might be the right fit.  Available in left hand or right hand configurations, the 89101 can fit into any space with its very economical footprint of 39.5” (1003.5mm) X 39.5” (1003.5mm) X 87.5” (2222.5mm).
As with all of our other models the 89101 is computer controlled and comes with a steam temperature display, overhead rain shower and lighting, hand-held shower, back jets, decorative floorboards, dual control panels, FM radio, vent fan and alarm, acrylic stool and an easy access maintenance panel. The 89101 just goes to show that smaller can be better.

Celebrating Canadian Women on International Women’s Day 2016

While we celebrate females and their achievements annually on March 8th, better known as International Women’s Day, honouring women’s contributions should be an ongoing celebration and not an annual event.

Canada’s theme this year “Women’s Empowerment Leads to Equality” is focused on women having the tools necessary to make better choices. The rationale behind this theme is that when empowered women make choices that meet their own needs and those of their families, the world becomes a better place for everyone. Now where would any of us be without our grandmothers, mothers, sisters, cousins and daughters?

Women have impacted Canadian life in so many ways, from politicians such as Agnes McPhail to artists such as Emily Carr to the first female professor Carrie Derick to our first female astronaut Julie Payette, Canadian women have played an integral in blazing trails empowering women in our country. Where would we be without Nahnebahwequay who championed Native rights or Jenny Trout, Canada’s first legally licensed doctor?

While they have come a long way, the journey is far from complete. The gender inequality gap in regards to equal pay, women in executive management roles and political leadership is larger than ever. So as we salute those women who have made our country great, let us take note that there is so much more that we can accomplish if we work together.

Apres-Steam, How to Get Healthier Skin after Taking Your Steam Shower

Now we all know of all of those great benefits of taking a steam shower. Steam therapy is a natural alternative to expensive chemical products and can effectively treat several skin conditions.

During your steam shower, steam acts as deep cleaning agent to expel toxins from your skin, washing out impurities and preventing acne and pimples. By stimulating blood circulation to the skin surface, steam removes dead skin cells, and hydrates the pores for shinier skin. Steam can be your private fountain of youth and make you look younger!

But what can you do to make sure that those benefits last? Taking a warm to cool shower after your steam shower, will increase the blood flow, while the heat will loosen your muscles and helping them to release toxins. Using a gentle exfoliate will remove the dead skin cells that have been transported to the surface. A quick application of a moisturizer while the skin is still damp will trap some of the water still on your body and use it to hydrate your skin. It’s important to use your towel in a patting motion before applying moisturizer, be sure to pat your skin with a towel instead of rubbing it since a toweling dry can be rough on your skin and cause irritation.

Finally, while it might be hard to resist the temptation, don't drink alcohol before or after a steam since it will dilate blood vessels even more. Water is a healthier source of hydration for you and your skin!
